Dr. R. Jeremy Hammond

Our Doctor
Dr. R. Jeremy Hammond is originally from Ellabell, Georgia where he graduated from Bryan County High School in 2002. From there he attended Truett McConnell College and graduated with an Associate degree in Science in 2004. Going on to attend Armstrong Atlantic State University and completing his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in December of 2006. After undergrad he spent a semester in Yantai, China teaching at an international school. While there he met his wife, Christie. They have since been married for 10+ years and have 3 children, Liam, Callie, and Colin. From China Dr. Hammond moved to Augusta, Georgia, spending 4 years at the Medical College of Georgia where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2011. After dental school he spent a year doing an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at The Ohio State University. Following that year with an additional oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Subsequently finishing his four year certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2017 at Christiana Care Hospital. After completing residency, Dr. Hammond practiced for approximately 2 years in Statesboro, Georgia. During that time he achieved Board Certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (March 2019). While in Statesboro Dr. Hammond also realized that he desired to start his own patient centered practice. Dr. Hammond and his family moved to Saint Simons Island in May of 2019 and started Sea Pines Oral and Facial Surgery.

Marsha Shipman

Front Staff
Marsha was born in Brunswick and began her career in the dental field in 1998. She spent 14 years working in general dentistry before making the move to oral surgery, and in 2016, she received her AAOMS coding certification. Marsha is excited to be a part of the Sea Pines team to assist you with insurance, billing and appointments. Marsha is married to the love of her life, Jason and they have a son, Cameron. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Samantha Cunningham

Front Staff
Samantha was born and raised in South East Georgia. She studied at the College of Coastal Georgia and has been working in the oral surgery field since 2016. Primarily, Samantha focuses on insurance but is also educated in all aspects of the front desk. In addition, she is trained in assisting clinical staff and operating x-ray equipment. Working with Dr. Hammond, Samantha is devoted to helping patients in any way she can!. In her spare time she enjoys loving on her two fur babies and engaging in outdoor activities with her boyfriend Ricky.

Stacy Thomas

Assistant
Stacy is a native of the Golden Isles and has over 20 years of experience in dentistry. She graduated from Coastal Georgia Community College in 2001 as a Dental Assistant and obtained her Expanded Duties Certification in 2018. Stacy is proud of her job and enjoys working alongside Dr. Hammond while delivering quality care using cutting edge technology. She and her husband, Mike, have been married for 20+ years and have a daughter. A couple fun facts about Stacy are that she enjoys fishing and camping!
